Who we are and what we do
At the Mediterranean Linguistic Center, we are passionate about language and want to share our enthusiasm with students from all over the world, which is why we embrace an online model. Additionally, we apply a cultural approach to our classes so that language knowledge is linked to the idiosyncrasies of the country of origin.

Alfredo Costabile
Italian teacher
Hello! I am Alfredo, and at the Italian Cultural Centre I deal with everything related to the Italian language. First of all, I am an Italian teacher: teaching is a passion that I have cultivated for a long time. In fact, I have studied to become a teacher both in Italy and in Spain. I have a degree in Italian Philology in Florence and in Modern Languages in Granada, I have the DITALS and MAES masters, as well as a long series of courses in language teaching. I have also worked as a teacher, first in Italy and then in Spain, in different centres. The most relevant experiences, in this sense, have undoubtedly been those at the Italian Cultural Centre in Seville and at the EUSA University. I also like to create teaching materials for our courses and I am in charge of preparing for official exams, which I know very well, since I am an official examiner for CILS (University of Siena) and Cert.it (University of Rome 3). Over the past 25 years I have had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of students at all levels and the results have always been excellent: I can say that all my students have passed the exam and obtained the qualification! I speak Spanish as if it were my mother tongue, Portuguese quite well and French poorly. I love travelling, reading, cooking, I love animals and I have many interests that I love to share with students during classes.

Spanish Teacher
Hello! My name is Ana and I am a Spanish teacher for foreigners at the Centro
Mediterranean Linguistics. If the dictionary is the toolbox of language, I assure you that I know mine very well. In fact, I have been a journalist for 25 years, an activity that I have combined with teaching since 2017. Turkish, English, German and, above all, Italian students have come to my classes. Sometimes I have felt like I was in the Tower of Babel, but at the end we have all ended up speaking the same language: Spanish. In short, I love communication in all its forms and... Isn't communicating the ultimate goal of learning other languages? In addition to my mother tongue, I speak English and Italian (not like a native speaker, but everything will come in time), I am able to sing "O Tannenbaum" and count to ten in German and I can order a toast in Portuguese without being expelled from the country. I love sculpture, painting, theatre, reading, enjoying a good film, travelling and tasting the gastronomy of the countries I visit. Ah! And I am part of an “Italo-Spanish” tandem, as I am married to a Calabrian who is the Italian teacher at the Mediterranean Linguistic Centre. I am looking forward to meeting you because I learn so much from each of my students that I feel truly privileged.

Throughout the 100 hours of class we will deal with the most
important aspects of levels A1, A2 and B1 and we will also dedicate time to preparing for the exam
official.
Schedules:
1. Monday / Wednesday / Friday from 16:30 to 18:30 (start date 03/10/2024)
2. Tuesday / Thursday / Friday from 16:30 to 18:30 (start date 02/10/2024)

1. single payment of 650 euros, without registration.

Training offer
A1 Beginners
The objective of level A1 is that the student:
– Can understand and use very basic expressions to satisfy specific needs.
– Can introduce himself and others, answer and ask questions about personal details such as where he lives, the people he knows and the things he owns.
– Can interact at a basic level as long as the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
A2 Elementary
At A2 level, a student:
– Can understand commonly used statements and expressions related to activities such as shopping, family, employment...
– Can communicate simple and routine tasks that require a direct exchange of information.
– You can describe in a simple way aspects of your past, your environment and issues of immediate need.
B1 Intermediate
A student with level B1:
– Can understand the key points in topics related to work, school or recreational activities.
– Can handle most of the situations in a place where the language is used.
– Can produce and connect simple texts on common themes.
– Can describe experiences and events, dreams and ambitions, as well as opinions or plans.
B2 Upper Intermediate
At level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference, a student:
– You can understand the key ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in your field of specialization.
– You can interact with a certain fluency and spontaneity, which makes social interactions more natural.
– Can produce clear and detailed texts on various topics and explain a point of view.
C1 Advanced
Upon reaching level C1, a student:
– Can understand long sentences and recognize implicit meanings.
– You can express your ideas fluently and spontaneously.
– You can use the language flexibly and effectively.
– Can produce clear, well-structured and detailed texts on complex topics, showing the correct use of organization, articulation and cohesion mechanisms of the text.
C2 Expert
At the C2 level, a student:
– Can easily understand practically everything read or written.
– Can summarize information from different spoken or written sources, reconstructing arguments and in a coherent way.
– You can express yourself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, noticing the differences in meaning even in complex situations.
